Ray and all you guys thanks for all the up to the minute updates and all the photos.almost makes me feel like I`m there.NOT. I even Drug my knuckles on the cement,Hit my little finger with a ball pin hammer and burned my forearm on a hot pipe just to feel like I`m in the Lambky`s liner Pit. The latest I heard on Lambky`s Liner when they turned off early was Hartmut  was running off coarse do to a strong wind, and it was`nt sounding right. There is also a leak behind the Clutch. They will be the last boys off the salt tonight.Later Days Little Max

LOL!!!  Take it easy on the extremities...ya might need 'em later.  :)

Hope things were minor with the liner.  We'll all be here in the ayem.

They just announced that they've "run 350 bikes through the course today."  I guess that means 350 timed runs made...not too bad, all in all.

The primary breather line came loose, blowing oil on the slider clutch.  The clutch slipped due to oil, and heated up, loosening the outer diameter of the clutch seal to shaft.  It worked it's way out, throwing additional oil on the clutch.  All repairs have been made.  At the 5 mile, side winds of 8 mph blew Hartmut off course.  He ran the timed mile to the left of the traps.  No time given.

We'll be running tomorrow morning.

No.  I never saw him make a return.  I'll ask in the morning.  Everybody has been invited (by BUB hisself) to drive the courses at 6 ayem to pack the salt.  Or so I was told.  I'll be there to drive/get the story.

Max:  Glad things weren't of a major nature.  I'll have the camera pointed atcha in the ayem.

A few more fotos...then I'm gonna kool it early tonite (yeahrightsure.)

First:  This has to be one of the strangest bikes on the salt.  250cc....something.

The rider of the #426 bike needed a bit of a bump start...it was a kinda difficult to get goin.  But once it was runnin, it did just fine.

more to come.

Let's think about it -- #7419 -- looks kinda familiar, doesn't it?  Something about STD on the tailpiece -- like, mmm, Speed Team Doo?  Now where, oh where, have I seen that bike discussed?

I know -- here on the forum!  Of course.  How could we forget?

Ray, you're forgiven for not remembering instantly.  I forget things now and then, too.

Then I remembered that fotos look better when they're not back-lit.  DUH!

This rider got going pretty well, too.

I think this is Eric Patteron and his Norton J.A.P.  He reminded me a lot of Burt Munro.
