I'm wanting to use a set of 15" mini spare rims for the lakester, using a set of Goodyear 24" tall LSR tires, and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what would be the best mini spare rim to use. Only thing, needs to be a 5 lug wheel, bolt pattern and offset doesn't matter since I am going to have to have a set of wheel hubs machined. Thanks!

I use 15" space saver rims off of older Camaros, then weld the rim to the center.

Good to hear. We have a couple of 5 on 5 3/4 S-10 space saver rims welded up to use on my buddy's lakester when it is ready. Didn't want to pass along info we hadn't tested yet. Ed

Bob Sage owner of "The Wheel Smith" in Santa Anna Ca
Can make as narrow as 4.5 inch wheels with some offset choices, For LSR uses, He fully 360 degree welds the centers to the hoop and also will weld the Dzus tabs on if you have Chico from Mooneyes drop ship him the tab kit, then he will gladly have them powdercoated if you like.
The set he made for me for the Stude to my door (wheel, 360 welding, tabs welded. powder coated and shipping was less than $600 for 4 wheels (Two 15x6 and Two 15x7)
Ordering 4 new ones for the Stude to fit the Goodyear Land Speed Tires for SW in 2011, so I will use 4 of the 15 x 4.5 and yes powdercoated Red...
He is my exclusive Steel "Wheel" builder for my race cars and hot rods.

I agree with Charles, you cannot get a better wheel and better service than Wheel Smith. Great guys and great service and pricing.
