Our best speed was just a tick under 119mph and we set the AMA 2 way record at 116.874mph average.

It's a good thing they changed the seat rules a the last minute. That seat looks like it would have violated the old rules.
Go fast and beat your old record.

We had Nigel Begg ride an SR500 to 110 here in '06 and I thought it was kind of soft, and was surprised to see the AMA was 116.874mph.

I stand corrected. Congrats on holding the record, best of luck for this year.

119 mph is a good speed for a naturally aspirated 500 single with minimal streamlining at the salt flats altitude.  It is fast now.

I have a stock seat and modified tail section ready to bolt on just in case they give me a hard time about this one.

Looking good - I hope you get to where you want to go with it.  Being kind of new to the Aero dept. may I ask how much difference in drag and speed does a front fender set up like that contribute, as to no fender at all on a basically open bike  ?
Thanks  See ya at the BUB meet

Keep the Buell flag flying!  By the way, who's XBRR are you bringing to BUB?

Not sure how much difference  the front  fender will make but it sure can't hurt.
