What's up with Portland rental rates? $100 a day for a car that's $30 in Boston. Any trick to this, or am I about to be bent over? thanks, Dean

Just a suggestion - drive from Boston. I love road trips.

Good idea, but I booked my flight before checking on the car. I may have found a cheaper option, will report back.

Let us know.  Well me, as I am going to Portland at the end of August.

I will have free time Sunday afternoon, evening.  Any LSR things to see?  Racing interest places to visit?

Will weld for beer.  Will BS for beer too!   cheers

OK, the trick is to rent in Portland, but not at the airport. I just booked a car at Enterprise (3 miles from the airport) for $20 a day.

If you travel you ALWAYS should check the airport rental against a rental in town. It has been worth a taxi ride in the past to save some money.
