Well,, we have 39 days to go before our season starts up again.

Who is ready now ?  Who has work left to be done ?

Myself, I can't wait to get back to the track and see everyone and all the cars and bikes... my sad news is that it is looking less and less likely that the Stude will be ready for the April event,,, I surely underestimated how much time and $$$$  this project would take... I also don't want to do any thing half AST... so I am about to face the reality that the Stude will not make it out to play until June...

My machine work is complete and the head should be back at the local shop any day now.  Then the engine gets assembled and I take the bike in for the engine swap.  I think I am ok on schedule at this point.

Charles (a/k/a Cajun Kid):

Your recent post about underestimating the time and dollars required for a project -- gives definitive proof of the line we tell most newcomers about planning:  Figure the cost, double it, then add 100% or so.  Ditto for the time required.

And after you're part way through the build -- start allowing lots more money and time.  Not that I'm hasslin' you, Charles -- just pointing out the basic truth of land speed racing.  We sure do look forward to seeing the Stude (and the Vicky) at Maxton.

You left out the part where you add even more time and even more money!

Or you pack up your stuff and go run in Texas where they require very little in the way of safety equipment.
