All you Loring racers are welcome to Lobster fest 2010 on the ocean at Popham Beach Maine on Monday Aug 2nd.

Its on the way south out of Maine just off 95/RT1 just south of Bath Maine. Most guys are heading down and staying in Bath Sunday night. Bath has several Holiday Inn type places and Popham is just 15 min south to the ocean.

On Monday we will have a Lobster fest at Popham with plenty of Lobster, clams, and beer etc.  Were not sure yet on all the details of the actual Lobster fest this year.  Last year we had it at our Cottage but there will be more people this year so were thinking of having it at Spinneys, a local seafood resturant (the only one in popham) right on the beach.

Popham is a VERY small Lobstering/Tourist village of about 20 year round people right on the ocean.  It has miles of beaches and is a very scenic area with a lot of history. There are a few camp grounds nearby as well. Or you can pitch a tent at our place 100 feet from the ocean.

I'll have more details on this soon.... heres a few pics...

Jim

This sounds like a great detour on the way home.  I was irritated that I didn't get a lobster break in last year.  What time would you expect this to start and wrap up Monday?  I am thinking I might want to get a few miles closer to home afterwards to shorten the drive Tuesday though i made it from Augusta in a long day last time around.

Well, at this point i'm not sure about the details just yet.

I'm working on them now.  I'll have it sorted out shortly.

But it should start about 11 am with Bloody Marys....

Genius, I wish I could make it........I'm thinkin a martini with an olive would be just the shot after that, at about 11.35.... wink

I guess i can wait until 11 for a Bloody Mary though they taste better at 9 which allows one to have their first beer at 10!   cheers  definitely looks like a good reason to delay my return to work by a day.

Ok,  I've worked out the details on the lobster dinner....

Its going to be at Spinneys on Popham Beach Monday aug 2nd in the outside seating area right on the beach!!!

The dinner is for noon (so no one gets to liqured up before we eat).

A cup of NE clam chowda
A basket of steamers
Two 1-1/4 pound lobsters
Corn on the cob

$30 a person
The bar will be a cash bar.

The views are exactly what you see in the picture in the above posts.  Its a great place.
This is an open invitation to everyone going to the races at Loring.

I'm going to start a head count here on the board so I can tell him how many are going to be there.
We will be serving bloody marys etc. from 9 am at our cottage on the ocean several hundred feet walking distance to Spinneys. We will have parking at our place and also near by.

Dr Googles, your time frame is so distorted that you would be taking your laxative at noon in Loring and s

till be three hours late.

Do your drinking down under when you know how long it is before sunrise.

You downsiders are a problem that many time zones to the East.

You would miss your wedding were it to be held on the east coast of the USA.

Now the Pacific Northwest USA, that's a different deal.

Our bars don't close at the same time as the easterners.

If you need counseling, give me a call.
