I think I did spot you at Salt Talks but you looked kinda busy..

You were in the trailers by the gravel trap? I rode thru that, almost came to a standstill, then give er.. really thought I would not make it out.. shocked

Told a guy on a dirtbike to try it, he was surprised at  how hard it was to ride thru.. shocked

Yeah I rolled thru to the end of the campers, only one camp past me. roll in late, leave early.. leave no trace..

Where can I park an old motorhome with a nice aluminum trailer, with my bike on it? I've been to the salt once, but not sure where to camp for the nights while we're there. Later Rich

Or for about $25-30 a night you can stay at the KOA campground in town and have full hookups plus cable TV.

The last time we stayed at KoA - a few years back - they even had wi-fi included with the rent.  Not at all a bad place to stay.

There's only one road leading from town/the interstate into the Salt Flats.  You've got no options -- you must take it.  The road runs straight from the I-80 exit/truckstop for about a mile or a little less, then turns right at a 90-degree corner and goes for about 4-5 miles to the end of the pavement.  That right turn IS "the Bend in the Road" -- it's the only turn so therefore is easy to use as a point of reference.  By the same token -- the end of the pavement is known as "Land's End" -- because it is.

Entrope-

It's in the regulations that first timers must camp out on the salt. Think of it like boot camp. First toot is at 0:500. By 0:530 you must be showered, dressed and have breakfast cooked and ready for the rest of us to arrive by 0:600 hours. By 0:630 hours our tents/canopys must be up and ready for the day. True salt runners are no allowed a hotel room until their third year on the salts. I hope this doesn't discourage you from coming to join us--

Sorry Flyboy- no camping out on the Salt during the BUB event.
Gosh you make it sound horrible to be up at 5:30...
we're all out there before the sun come up.
There is nothing more spectacular than a sunrise over the Salt.

sigh...only five months to go
See you on the Salt,

Thanks for the alert about Pre-registration being open, Linnea. I already checked it out. I found that those new on-line PDF forms do not work with Internet Explorer 8.0 like I have, but do work with Firefox and older Explorers. Not a problem. You will be seeing my registrations soon!
Thanks for all your work.
