We are looking for a front end set-up for our liner.
No front brakes needed, of course.
Where do I look for this stuff? Chassis Shop has the spindles but no hubs to match.

Rob, the spindles that the Chassis Shop sells are for TF and funnycar. Those hubs are built into the wheels. The funny car 15" are what I run and You can get Goodyears that are 21' tall to suit.

"Got'Cha" was first run in 1974. Bill Temple entered both 2 clubs in 1976 with records in AA/BGR. At El Mirage 201.79 and Bonneville at 220.
In 1977 Greg Temple started driving "Got'Cha" and entered the El Mirage Dirty 2 club in 1979 @ 201.97. Greg went on to set two records at Bonneville, one in 1981 at 241.848, then in 1991 he set another record at 262.230
Bill and Greg were the first father and son to enter the El Mirage Dirty 2 club. They broke the D/BFR at Bonneville in 1981 @ 241 with top speed of 249. This record still stands today. In 1991 they set the A/BFR @ 262 which was later broke by Duane McKinney.

Build your own upright and use those spindles. It will give you more options and ways to go with the suspension. They take an Anglia hub and are available from most race wheel manufacturers. The Goodyear 21” LSR tires have been over 400. Tony

Those are the spindles I am using on our rear engine roadster suspension. We designed our own upright to sit inside the wheel. The Anglia hubs work on that spindle. Just be careful if you are buying used hubs and rims as they made some for Ford spindles as well. These are the solid models of our upright. Tony   |

Rob, the 21" Goodyears are just smaller version of the 24x16 Mickeys. Many streamliners use short steer wheels and just because Goodyear cautiously under rates them doesn't mean they won't go way faster. The 25x15 Goodyear LStire on the rear of NISH'S CAR HAS GONE 380 AND THE 21" TIRE IS A WAY BETTER DESIGN. It has a very short sidewall well suited to high speed. Also they are smooth tread like a LS tire should be. Keeps the front of the car low too.

one of those 380 15s went away at around 360 one time ---dont know if it was published as to why ---led to a very fortunate ride.

I don't mind pushing the limits on some things, but what we are proposing is going to {hopefully} be well over the speed rating of the Goodyear's 300mph. I'd rather spend the extra cash on getting rated tires and making it home, especially a steer tire!

Another appproach to spindles using the Chassis Shop "axles".
We built these for an 1100 lb Honda S2000 powered Altered class drag machine. It has rocker-arm IFS using mountan bike shocks. No brakes.
