The bagger bike ran in the 150 range. I saw a 151.5 on the speed display once. They had a digital numeric display in front of the staging area which showed the trap speed of the vehicle on track. Mike Manghelli talked to the guy who put it together about a similar set up for El Mirage.

It's because I ran naked at BUB and the salt was extra wet the first couple of days. Pretty much the salt is having its way with all the electrical on the bike right now. Scott

Temple's "Got'Cha"

How would those of you that raced on the track rate the surface? In other words would a car without suspension be able to run there? Would a dragster type vehicle be able to run or would the course be too bumpy?

"Got'Cha" was first run in 1974. Bill Temple entered both 2 clubs in 1976 with records in AA/BGR. At El Mirage 201.79 and Bonneville at 220.
In 1977 Greg Temple started driving "Got'Cha" and entered the El Mirage Dirty 2 club in 1979 @ 201.97. Greg went on to set two records at Bonneville, one in 1981 at 241.848, then in 1991 he set another record at 262.230
Bill and Greg were the first father and son to enter the El Mirage Dirty 2 club. They broke the D/BFR at Bonneville in 1981 @ 241 with top speed of 249. This record still stands today. In 1991 they set the A/BFR @ 262 which was later broke by Duane McKinney.

There -- you now have a Mojave Mile board, on the list right after the Texas Mile. Have at it, ladies and gentlemen. I've listed me, as usual, as the moderator, and sort of invited Karl to jump in there, too.

After reading the news of the NASCAR test at Talladega yesterday, where the cars ran as fast as 213, I had a thought. Where were the dozens of cars that would run the salt, if a class were available, at this event?

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime. His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.
Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all. J

Well, I don't know. If allowed to compete they'd be so far off the records of the classes they might(?) align with, they'd be not worth mentioning.

Looks like a great event from the pics and bike videos. You need to get them on the venue's website. Love that digital display! May need one for the starting line and the pits at Maxton but guessing they aren't cheap. I also like the planes in the background. Makes it seem even more related to Maxton. Hope I can get out there someday.
