........the build up on that 14 rim is scary.....

i hope he got that by doing some extra driving around after
off the course.....

great reporting Jon W.   KUDO's......

as everyone knows....at home....even the seemingly littlest
things can be HUGE to see and know about....

If the build up on that 14 wheel came from "on course" speed, it seems to me

that no streamliner will be running until the salt is better.

Shadow boxing is one thing but putting your rider in a 'liner and expecting anything but trouble is

ludicrous. I don't think that the minds that control those rockets would want any part of it.

Joe, do u agree?

Well -- remember that this event allows riders to ride from pits to start and finish to pits and so on -- so maybe the buildup isn't from the course.  Maybe -- but I've seen quite a few bikes with lots of salt all over the place.  Take Scott's bike, for instance -- so much on his helmet that he had to open it to see where he was going -- got both eyes full of salt, decided that wasn't a good idea, so tried to wi[e the visor off while moving (I HOPE he was off the run when doing that).

A few bikes still running, but we'll be done soo, I hope.  I'm hungry - so is Nancy.  Still have to visit Rice Bros. to get the run logs.  Hope they're compatible with this MacBook.  By the way, Delvene says she'll email me the record lists either later in the evening - or the next morning.  I promise I'll post 'em as soon as I get them -- don't think I'LL hold out on you.

It's been a great first day of racing, thanks for the coverage JonW!  Hope everything is okay with the rider who went down.   The haze could be smoke haze from the fires in California.  Hope all you racers from that end of the state are safe.

Stay safe everyone,

...Glen i figured that much likely came from some extra riding
around........

...thats one of the many things i like about scta...not allowing race
vehicles to run under their own power except on course or getting off (couple
different puns in that one)........

that much build up is quite impressive.....can imagine how much other
salt ended up in other undesired places......

im sure Denis has a decent grip on the situation.....

thats SOOO cool that Kim got the Aussie 750 out there and went over 190 on that
course......

SSS please tell Greg Waters with the aussie team....nice thinking having the girls
do the shake down runs....only problem is....their so dang tough.....as evidenced by
her run..........aaaahhhhhh......aussie chicks........none better......Kim is a great example
......as is/was the really gregarious (theres a pun)  one at the Two Club banquet at SW....

please tell her hi as well if she stayed stateside........they know how to live life....

Rocky said the salt as much drier today than yesterday.  He expects some good times to come in around Wednesday.  He is set up with the bike stripped and the body on the tarp showing off the changes from last year.  He says he has another 200 HP to play with over last year's output.   He's sitting there like an old time Knight in Armor with his trusty steed nearby just waiting for a challenger to joust with.

There's been some salt growth since two weeks ago.  The areas where it has been driven over since then are not bad but i noticed lots more salt on the inside top of my truck fenders as I rinsed it off tonight.  There's about double the amount I picked up at Speedweek.  There's a lot more on the soles of my shoes too.

I got in two runs on the short course today. I got 197 on the last run but the fishtailing and tire spin were pretty severe. I was constanly backing off on the throttle.
But the high point of the day was when I took my daughter into impound and  then to have her record certified. She ran 131 on her qualifying run, then 137 on the return run. This was on my Honda CX500T which can't go that fast.
Here she is. Leslie Porterfield watch out.
