Assen's icing the cooler right now here at the end of the int'l course.  I just did what I could to give him some help -- gave him and his crew a few of the wonderfully-useful landracing.com neck coolers, which are available for only $5/each at this and other events.  Richard's now in his black leathers.

Rosey's bike #2251 being pushed to the line down here.

The bike that just left was 1196, Don Mills,  203.9 mph

Bub bike is being moved to pre-stage -- away from the trailer, still on the transporter.

Rosey's away.  Assen's pushing to the line.  Looks like a bit of a headwind down here at the zero.  Bub bike hidden behind the trailer.  Assen helmeted and walking to the bike.  He walks barefoot, by the way, save for when he's wearing the racing boots.  Dang Kiwi's. . .

Rosey, on his production MV Agusta 1000, goes 188.2 mph

11 minutes 'til 4 pm.  I wonder if Bub will run anyway and hope to qualify and turn around in less than two hours.  Other bikes aren't allowed to leaave to qualify for FIM after 4PM -- Bub might decide to try anyway.
Assen is waiting for a green flag.  Won't warm the motor much -- overheating is their biggest problem

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.

Can't tell for sure from here -- but the Bub bike might be back in the trailer.  I'll get Richard's speed and then go check.

Yep -- no run today.  I don't know why -- will see if they'll tell me.

Bike #519 goes 214.201 mph.  Still no 260s -- when will he repeat?

I wonder if the Bub crew is doing a crowd-fake...  The transporter is in the trailer and now they're moving the rig along the FAR side of the course.  Maybe it's to take it to the half-mile to start.  Not much time, though. . .

She-E- Moto on the long int'l course right now.  It's a GSXR1000, Andy Sills up.  He's the guy that rode Jack Costella's laydown bike liner the first times it was out, remember?  He also held a two-up record on a BMW.  He goes 181.8.  Bub bike still sitting in the transporter and not leaving the line.  Updates coming as they're worth the typing. Chris Carr standing outside the support truck, twirling a wind speed gauge like it's a yo-yo.  But he isn't suited up -- wearing shorts and a cap, chatting on the phone.  Sure would be a bummer if he traveled all the way here and gets in only a run today, may be two tomorrow. . . Of course those two could be giant -- qualify on one, back it up on the other -- that's all it'll take.

#121, a Swiss guy's 'Busa. goes 194.377.

Back to you, John.  Richard Assen's crew cheif earlier said the bike was hooking up better than earlier in the week -- but he was still needing to pedal it during the top gear part of the run. Can you get here by morning and show us how you'd do it?

Slim,

Yes I could be there however I also realized that tomorrow is the end of the money and it is severely reduced from last years 10K that was up for grabs, the turbo on our little bike is much smaller and does not make the big HP numbers like Richards and Jasons bikes however it is a very tractable with respect to applying the power as to how the boost comes in..very linear.

3 runs in a row at 251.8-252.8 last year however looks like Richard, Leslie or another person will win it this year..kills me to sit here and talk on the phone to customers during this meet.

I am sure the customers can hear the fresh button being clicked a million times.. grin

The Bub bike has moved to the 1/2 and stopped, and the bike is being rolled out of the trailer as I type.  I guess that means a run is imminent.

Thanks for the donation, Jack.  Maybe I should tell you to keep the donation and buy some Rogaine.

Oooh, I'll never get another donation if I keep up talking like that, hey?

Don't forget, bosses of the world's land speed racers -- this event ends tomorrow at mid-day.  You'll get some work done by them after lunch.

Bub bike is off the transporter and on the ground.  Jack, Nancy says a chromedome could be very sexy -- and I'll let her discuss with you, in person, under what circumstances.

Looks like Chris is in the bike.  They're bending over and adjusting belts.  Canopy not on the bike yet.Tow vehicle coming around to get into position to pull the 'liner.

Ray just handedme some more photos (well, gave me the thumbdrive).  Most of his stuff is in the Gallery.  Don't forget -- I'm giving him part of the money donated at this event -- to payhis way.  He's a budding professional photographer (at age 62) and wants the exposure.  Visit the Gallery, and also his site (www.chevyasylum.com).

Canopy still not on #7.  Click to post.

Fritz Kott just ran 86.5 on the Int'l short course.

Bub's is adjusting the tow rope.  Official trucks scooting all over the place--but nothing else right now.

By the way -- very kind thanks to the official that's directing spectator traffic down here at the long course end.  He has graciously realized the Nancy and I, and Ray, know enough to park far enough out of the way of the bikes starting out -- that we don't get chased away.  And I guess that means we've been being good little boys -- and that, in turn, means that we can provide you at home (and at work) with the best information we can get.

Bub still sitting in the shade, five poeple clustered about it.  Tow rope is attached but not stretched out.   Somebody's kneeling by Chris .

No other bikes running from the long end of the int'l course - all are in the shade and waiting for the Bub bike to do something.

A headwind breeze has come up down here.  I don't see any flags to watch, but I'd guess at least 6-9 mph.  I wonder if that's what's holding up the #7 run. . .
