So -- Sam will move the bike up to about the 1/2 for his start - whenever that's going to happen. Bub started there, too -- the first half-mile of the long int'l course is too bumpy for the tow starts. Buddfab and the 9622 started down here at the zero. Buddfab did a lot of ziggy-zaggy as he left the line -- guessing it's the handling issue from the other day, not the bumps. But I'm not the pilot -- I shouldn't guess.

Fred, leave it alone. You've got a smaller motor than us, running in the next class down, and you're running faster - and making me feel kinda lame-O. Let it go the way it is and I'll be that much less embarrassed.
Nah, not embarrassed. If your bike is faster than mine (speaking in generalities here) I try to see it as encouragement that I've got more to learn, more to do, more to anticipate. Go for it, hey?

Hi Slim,
You just mentioned BuddFab went 189. Is that correct? if so WOW! Must be the 125cc motor. Thanks for the great reports. Cheers, Scott

I didn't hear it from the radio system -- instead from Bruce, one of the SCTA inspectors. I'll check it out when we head up to the pits later on.
Tom Mellor went 198 yesterday, by the way. He's down here with the sliver-grey Triumph faux-streamliner for another run. I don't know what he's waiting for -- been sitting in the shade for an hour or more.

I cancelled a meeting to sit here and hit the refresh button. Well worth it. Next year we expect a live webcast, though.

We talked with Rosey a little while ago. He went down on the 1000 cc MV Agusta #2251 -- at about a buck-sixty five. No damage to him, and only sanded down a bit of the art on the left side of the bike. He's on the start line right now. Here's how we got him smiling again:

Rosey runs 191 mph. Not bad for a crasher from a few hours ago. He was the second run of the morning when it went down.

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime. His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.
Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all. J

Not much going on here at the start line -- compared to what I might be able to find for all of you at the pits, so I thinkwe'll saddle up and head down there to find out what more we can.
Stay tuned.
Ooops, I say that and Tom Mellor starts up the bike. I'll hang around 'til he runs. Waiting for a return run coming towards us, then he goes. Nope, he's off now!

Tom Mellor, on his #240 1969 T150 Triumph, runs 155.721 mph. 198 yesterday? Did I miss a run issue just now?
By the way, Sam Wheeler just moved the bike to the 1/2 to, we presume, get ready for a run. We're going to move the truck upto there now for more on-the-pot (I mean on the spot) coverage for you.

We're up at the 1/2 mile, and Sam's bike is off the trailer and on the ground. 10 minute hold has just been announced before it runs. Make your boss happy -- get some work done and check back in soon.
Wind is about 3-5 headwind in the downcourse orientation -- zero wind at the pits and tower.
Thanks for linking the photos, Deb.

Jon: if you have an idle moment could you shoot a full shot of the red & black car that was next to the Mellor bike above? Thanks. Mike
