Nancy -- 201.913 mph record on a production ZX15!

Mr. Announcer says that Chris Carr is suiting up -- but I can't see it from our viewpoint, about 150 yards away (and I'm using my good glasses, too).  There is a rider awaiting his run at the line down here -- been sitting on his bike, chatting with the starter, for at least a half-hour.  I don't understand the delay -- poor dude must be about exhausted from sitting there, holding the bike up.  No crew with him to help.  Mountain course is running, short int'l course is running -- but not this fella.

Debris on the int'l course -- that's why nothing's happening.  I hear that when the Bub bike runs -- all runs except the #7 will be stopped so everyone can watch this historic run (really -- that's what he said).

We're waiting for something.  Wind was zero -- back up to a few mph tailwind.

Carr has asked for a wind reading, and so now what they're gonna do is send one of the "small" liners, starting from the three, to get a real indication of how the wind on the course is moving.  It's #202, John Renwick in th eVincent 'liner, making a run.

Ooops, #202 is stopping in the middle of the middle mile.  Chute is out, turning out,  Not much good data there, hunh?

Still waiting.  Rosie Lackey and his crew just drove by on the way to the end of the int'l course, along with the #1225 bike -- so that hints that whichever it was went down with him earlier wasn't that one.  I'll check it out later -- maybe the blue Triumph.
Another run just went all to farkle -- #141, the Swiss group's turbo 'Busa, was making a run in the middle of the int'l long course and turned out.  Not good sounding for the Bub and Wheeler liners.  2.5 mph at the tower right now, all other locations report under 1 mph.

Nancy sez she sees movement at the Bub bike's mobile pit.

Remember the guy that was waiting at the beginning of the course, and that I said must be getting tired?  Hey -- he's just been moved off the course and has to wait for the Bub bike to make a run.

Radio announcer tells us that Manning just radied that the bike is ready to run as soon as -- as soon as -- as soon as he goes.  Got that?

I hope your button doesn't wear out either, Mike.

......im an optimist........

...but if anyone thinks this first run for bub will be historic...with
respect to speed.....is kidding themselves...imho....

....wow.....sending out a "smaller" liner as a course.....feeler....interesting....

how do ya get that job..........

...i can imagine the conversation.....take out your liner....try to go
fast....if its nice and calm....get off the course as soon asap......so
we can run.........

"Mountain course is now being held - for the historic run of the Bub #7 streamliner."

Hey -- I don't write the script for this announcer, I just tell you folks what he's saying.

Oh, announcer just told us that there are bikes running on both courses, but soon they'll hold everything.  And soon the glaciers will move back into the area, too.  Ooops, Jon, no editorialising here, okay?  That's going to be your job, Joe.

Oh, another new plan.  I think this one is version 14.B.  Now they're talking about sending a couple of fast sit-on bikes down the course before Bub runs.  Now the starter's radio is farkling.  Now Nancy's trimming her toenails.  Stay tuned, go potty -- I'll watch and let you know what's happening.

Bike 1965, Erin Hunter on a 'Busa, just left the long course start.  At least something's happening.

She runs 183.2.

Bub bike is ready to stage -- no engine sounds yet, though.

Possibly BUB 7 has been set up a bit soft in the past? Now set on 'stun'?

At the 1/2 -- running rich -- now cleaning out.

Second gear sounds stronger.

In the third mile.  In fourth gear.  In mile five.

In the measured mile . . . through the measured mile.

# 7 chute out.  Chute didn't open properly.

Speed:  351.698
