Leslie Porterfield, next to last rider of the day, runs a 212 on the '02 'Busa

Last run of the day was on an '89 Yamaha 650 VStar -- 89 mph.

Th-th-that's all, folks!

I'll get the run logs from Rice Brothers and post 'em as soon as I can get 'em up here.  In the meantime, don't forget to look at the photos in the Gallery.

I was looking at the run sheets for yesterday and they show entry #701 running a down run at 135.206 & return run of 135.974 in 1000/PG/APS apparently going for a record. I hold the record in this class from 2008 with #9216 at 150.34. For some reason on the 2009 Bub website record list it shows my previous 2007 record of 129.774. It was not updated on the 09 site. Checking the link to 2008 on their website confirms the 150 record ... I have the AMA certificate in hand and it says 150.540 ... Unless I am missing something, somebody named Serge Martin (701) is going to be very disappointed.

Just askin?  grin

Good eye, Joe -- although I understand about checking on a record that one holds.  Anyway -- I talked with Eric Manning today about the record lists from this event - and still am hearing that I'll eventually get them to post.  But as far as right now -- nothing.

I'll see if 701/Martin is around here tomorrow and ask (nicely, without telling him I'm shadowing for you) about the record.

AMA rules, Page 14, Section 1.J. Record Recognition, Paragraph 1, Sentence 3, States:
Falsification of ANY record document is subject to fines and exclusion from future meets.

Wonder if the AMA will pay you and them not show up at BUB next year if you are correct about their false record documentation on their site?

Slim,
It looks like the 1000/PF/APS record is open ... If Serge is still there he has a opportunity ...

Todd,
They just missed updating the record list on their site from '07 ... ECTA does it better ... J

I know Joe.. just bs'n. Thanks to the power of the internet, can you imagine when  it may have taken into the following year (if ever) to find mistakes like this.

You may find out he is in the fuel class already, and it's just a clerical error on the website showing he was in the gas class.

Would be nice if he knows either way!

This is (JUST) one reason it's always good to not only know who held the record you are running on previous to attempting it, but also who held it before them (the knowledge can lead to keeping a closer eye and other beneficial things as well).

Th-th-that's all, folks!

Jon and Nancy, thank you very much for another exciting day on the salt flats... it was ALMOST like we were there.
Go home and get some rest... you have an early morning ahead of you if you're going to keep the natives tamed.

Now back to this nooner you were talking about?

Jon, I don't have a list of who ain't there no more, but I didn't see the turbine bike at all today.  I did see it on a trailer at the end of yesterday -- but don't know if that was for going home or for moving around the pits.  I'll ask in the morning.
