Nancy -- 201.913 mph record on a production ZX15!

Heading down to the start of the int'l course to see why the Bub liner hasn't run.  Yesterday they had fuel issues, got 'em solved, went to the line and waited a few hours for the wind -- which obliged by getting worse and faster and gustier as the day went on.  This morning they were down there at the line with the portable pit set up -- so we figured they'd be running anytime to take advantage of the morning conditions.  Here we are, two hours or so since runs started - no Bub yet.  I'll let you know what's going on -- if they'll share.

Mike, niether Nancy nor I are members of the American Motorcyclist Association, so we aren't eligible to run here.  That's why she won't be on the race course (except maybe after hours, in the pickup, going to visit the timing tower).

Todd, I'll check out the sidecar rig and get you a class designation, then spend some time trying to translate from AMA to SCTA.

I'll put up run logs in XLS format tonight, also PDF's from 8/30.  So there'll be a full set of each.

Thanks Jon, but i know you have your hands full and I got more curious of the speed so I enhanced the photo a some. From what I can tell in that view (boost gauge, up pipe and no seal on the tank)... it looks like a SC/BF-(cc?).
Thanks (i don't want to take away from your tasks at hand),

Assen on the track -- ran a 223.+ just now.  Still lacking that 260 -- but also still fastest of the meet.

Bub has a wiring gremlin right now.  Crank sensor and cam sensor aren't in a talking mood -- but then, they're buttoning the airbox bacdk on top of the motor, so maybe...

That's what Eric Maning reported -- and I hear also that one of the stabilzer wheels' linkage was crimped and wouldn't retract all the way, so that explains the whacking by a hammer I heard coming out of the trailer.

Soon?

Wow just went through all 12 pages!!

Todd, Terry will be a WOS helping the other Terry's Liner I don't think he'll make max but he will be at Texas in Oct!

Thanks Shane, I'll look for him at WOS since I didn't see him at SW.

And if you think the 12 or 14 pages on this are something so far? Wait till you see the amount of people signed in and the lack of work getting done when the Shootout (http://www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,6381.0.html) is being reported.

Not everyone out here is racing.  Here's one of the Angelic Bulldog geeks (sorry, engineers) working on friction testing:

Todd's got it SC-BF-1350

193 is a great speed maybe he can get close to the speeds that have been run at El Mirage, with the better weather and also running a much longer course I sure hope they can.  Looks like Bob B will be paying him a few dollars for top time on a "WOAS"   I like his bodywork and would love to see some more pictures of his rig cheers

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.

Heading back to the pits.  The Bub bike's problem is now being reported as a MoTeC sensors issue.  They're oging to exchange the units from the spare motor.  The Salt Gremlins are at work -- no vacations for them.

We saw the 666 'liner leave - the first bike to run a qualifier following a long wait for returns.  Thebike is the one that yesterday rolled when the chute came out early when a tilt sensor proved to be vibration sensitive.  Anyway - just now they were having troubles getting the 7-point harness buckles to hook up -- so used some creative cursing and got things to fit.  By the way -- this bike is running on an old Burt Munro record.

John, we're back at the pits and I'll look for the Swiss bike for your edification.

Willie,

AMA record certs are included in the entry fee which requires the AMA membership, the FIM charges I believe 200 for each Mile and Kilo for the cert after ratification by the FIM general assembly..this is what I think we paid in 2005.

Anyone else know for certain the cost for FIM certs?
