Kaz,

Yes that was when he hit a cone, broke his foot and stayed on under power however he did not go down thankfully and did NOT exit past the coned off race course.  He was very fortunate and lucky.

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.

Sux to hear about Don's bike, but glad it stayed contained enough for a safe and effective (normal) stop.

I'm sure Richard is just barely getting started... he'll be spraying less salt as the next few days go by I'm sure.

Have you heard from Franey today (you know, while you're just roaming aimlessly with nothing to do)? Hope he's doing well, having a good time and steadily picking up speed.

Tell Terry hi and wish him all the best out there from me please. If (when) you see him again i'm curious if he intends on making either WOS or September Maxton? Tell him I look very forward to talking to him and to call anytime.

Wind has picked up so much that the int'l course is now being closed for the day.  Bub #7 has returned to the pit.  Wind is 20+++mph.  "Secure your EZ-ups", sez the announcder on the racio.  Yeah, secure 'em so they  wait for a BIG gust of wind to take off.  Better to take down the fabric completely, hey?  Don't ask how we know. . .

Mountain course is not on hold because of wind.  It's 5PM -- everything shuts down at 6, he says -- so maybe all done for the day.

Todd, Franey was using a belt for the primary -- and got in 2 1/2 runs before it went away.  Last we saw he was towing it to his pit to put the chain back on.

Terry didn't say anything about his plans for the rest of the season.  No doubt I'll see him again tomorrow (still dreaming about the 15T for us), so will ask then.

Even with the headwind (blowing south to north) -- starting some AMA return runs.  163.386 is the bike 191 speed just now.  One more bike in line up there.  Bike 7142 on the mountain course.  Running through the mile at 159.848.

Ray is handing me some more photos.  Don't forget to check the gallery.

6.03 PM and we're done for the day.  Nancy's out getting the run logs put onto the thumb drive -- I'll post 'em sooner or later.  By the way, Delvene did call to report that she'll get me the records as soon as she doesn't have more pressing needs -- like some FIM paperwork and silly little stuff.  But get 'em we will.

By the way -- the radio announcer is telling folks that they can see yesterday's run logs, printed on paper, on the registration trailer.  I told him to tell folks to call home with the news that the logs are on this site.  I think he was perplexed with the idea of posts form the salt...never did announce that.  Whatever -- you folks are getting the best coverage that we can provide -- and thanks to your comments (mostly helpful, thank you very much) we're doing better every time.

Wind is still pretty stiff -- from the south.  Must be 15 mph -- temps about 80 -- nice weather.

Run logs will be posted in the morning.  No incidents today.  We'll be out there nice and early to watch the liners run -- we hope.

SSS, I am on the Salt and with everything else going on it is great being able to sit down at the hotel and read the days updates. I learned more from reading posts then I did out there!

The Salt has greatly improved and there is much hope that it will only get better. At about 7:00 pm we saw Sam Wheeler with the EZ Hook on the trailer heading out. It looked to be ready to run so we are thinking he will be in line first thing in the morning?

David,
This is the direct link: http://landracing.com/gallery
You can also access it by going to the landracing.com website at http://landracing.com (we're in the forum section of the website, that's the main page of the actual website) and clicking on the photogallery link on the top of the page.
Once you're in there look for Bub Speed Trials 2009.
They've created a folder for each day of the event.
