This is like having Edward R. Murrow on the salt. Slim, you should have been a reporter. Thanks for the updates!

Thanks to Jon, Ray and others for making this such a riveting thread. I sneak a read whenever i can, bearing in mind the time difference means I cannot link in live. BRILLIANT! Gabriel.

Good morning! I'm at Land's End and Lynda wants me to remind y'all that it's chat line tonite. She also sez, 'Nyah, nyah...I'm here and yer not!!!" Update. Now that I'm on the salt, here's my view from the pit area. The Speed Demon is covered with a tarp; the team isn't here yet. The Missile is being worked on, the Bullet is still waiting for its motor. The BUB Porta-pit passed me going the other way as I was driving along the access road. They may be preparing for an early run. The snowmobile is on its trailer gettin some work. I'll check it out in a bit. I haven't seen the rocket bike this morning. More as it happens.

Good Morning. What's we've got in mind is breakfast in bed for 300,000 ---
Wait a minnit, wrong era.
Anyway. we're here -- and there's not a heck of a lot going on yet -- so this first post isn't speeds or anything.
Mike Charlton is here with the jet bike. He's about as easy to talk to as me -- and that's a good thing. He says the motor is running only about 80%, so they'll fiddle around and maybe make a pass or two to get some salt driving experience, then goback to town and see if the spare motor is better. He was excited to meet Poteet and Main -- said they're legends. And he even knew me -- says he reads the stuff on the site. Nice feeling for me -- somebody pays attention, hey?
Bub is down at the 12 mile readying for a run, I hear, but that's what Lynda said when we drove in 45 minutes ago. Late yesterday Eric Manning told me they had found a pinhole in one header pipe -- but that was fixed before their run yesterday when the chute deployed early. So I guess things will go well today -- we hope, and they hope. The Missile is in the pit being reset. Ray told me he had talked with them - they were going to make a harder run this morning with the quick gears, then, if all's okay, put in the tall set and give 'er. Oughta be good to watch.
Speed Demon still in the pit having the 4-cylinder motor put in. Buckeye waiting for the motor rebuild from SLC. The snomo folks are putting the drive train back together after hurting it yesterday. They're here to learn -- I brought them a garden sprinkler this morning to help them clean the sled of salt.
Enough for now. Keep your eyes on the screen, but no runs in the immediate future.
