Nancy and I will be there with laptop and camera.  We'll leave immediately after the event ends so we can spend the Labor Day weekend houseboating on Lake Powell, and from there go to Luckenbach, Texas, for a western music and poetry and fun "fandango".  But we'll be at Bub's -- only not to enter, just to report.

Jon, I live about 25 miles from Luckenbach. We will have to get together while you are down here.

Seeing as though the salt fever has yet to subside, the Gray Ghost, baring any unforeseen unfortunate situation will be there.  The ole GMC has a little over 170K miles on it now, but I think its good for one more cross country trip. I just can't see missing all the great people, and machinery. It's one of the few things I look forward to all year.   grin
See yaz on da salt -   cheers

Fred:

It's a new thing for us -- an adventure into the unknown.  But what the heck -- it's a way to fill the time between Bub's and World of Speed.  For sure you oughta come find us to let us know something we oughta know.  We're probably going to stay in Fredericksburg, since Luckenbach doesn't seem to be big enough to have motels.  Is this correct?

Definitely, Luckenbach consists of a country store, barn\dance hall, feed store and a couple of houses, lots of trees, benches, and a makeshift stage. Its rustic grin. I will definitely see you at salt talks if not before.

Looks like I will be able to arrive in time to tech on the 29th and be around for all the festivities. Lodging this year will move from The Nugget to the Econo Lodge....anyone that has stayed there have any comments?

I am wondering how many that visit this site will make it to Bub as a racer, crew member or volunteer? Look forward to hearing from ya'll.

Cole

Luckenbach is a great bike destination, and is not too far from Boerne as well, to open the hotel options up.  Would love to ride out and catch up with y'all as well, if you are in the mood for company:)

see ya at Salt Talks!

I'm definitely going, because even though my machine
won't be ready for competition this year, I still love the chaos of impound.

Plus,to make certain I'm kept busy..........

I do not think we will make the Bub event this year...first time in 5 years...and we just ran the side car in the 1,000 cc at 191+ mph...

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.
