I've done this for many years with bias ply racing tires with no problems.

Is there any problem doing this according to SCTA rules?

I know of one extremely fast car than put a sealer on the inside of the tire and did not use tubes. The tubes did not like the centrifugal froce the the speed of the tire was putting it thru.

Most people that I know don't run tubes in their tires.

Our fronts are tube type, so are the wheels
If you run a tube, lots of talc (we like the smell of Pinaud) and lots of pressure...

But that didn't answer your question...
According to the rules unless the tire says tubeless, tubes are required.... Exceptions can be granted by the Contest Board....
