Bracket
« on: March 20, 2009, 11:56:10 PM »
The bracket that holds Sheri's overflow tank onto her frame has broke. I just made a new one today and thought that I would post it on here.
The first thing I did was cut a strip of aluminum. Drilled some holes in it.  Using a transfer punch and countersinking tool and a  drill bit to drill the  holes. I sanded the edges slightly just to get rid of the saw marks. Marked it, took it over to the brake and bent it in four places to match the old bracket. The old bracket had a rounded end to where it clamps to a round tube frame. And as you can see in the pics, I layed the end of the bracket on the open jaws of the vise and put a piece of tubing the same size as Sheri's frame on the top of the bracket and struck it with a hammer bending it down between the jaws of the vise to match the round tube. The pics should tell the story.

Thanks Willie Buchta
