What's more common in Bonneville motors - using a thermostat or a restrictor plate?  Why?  DickJ

personal preference.... some do, some don't, variables include no radiator... you will see all depending on application.  Most experiment as they run to determine what is best.

There are a couple of threads that are related to this topic, regarding cooling and pre heating the engine, that might help give you an insight on this

As quick and easy it is to change out a thermostat, I'd bring a couple of different temps, along with a restrictor, and some spare gaskets.
