Smart thinking or were you just too scared to remember to lift  wink.  I think you have been watching some NASCAR (no jokes please Kent  tongue).  Sparky wasn't that video on SCTA or YouTube?

It is warming up getting closer to sailboat time,

Ryan, the snow is gone except for a few piles on the north side.  3 feet in December, not an inch in January and 6 inches this month.  We have actually been in the 50's a couple days and out sun bathing getting ready for our first big cruise  cool,

I downloaded a paper put together by BMW -- SAE 2006-01-0805 Aerodynamic forces of exposed and enclosed rotating wheels xxxxxx etc...

A lot to read and digest but - One thing that land speed racers know is to run a moon disc or cover on a wheel.  An interesting thing that they found in the wind tunnel besides lower drag was lower lift.

The numbers on the tire that they tested are - Open wheel - drag 23.6  lift 3.1 --- open wheel with cover drag 21.2 lift 1.7

There were some interesting details on an enclosed wheel as well.  For instance on a BMW z4 they put a 1.3" spoiler at the front lip of the wheel well.  Drag without -10.9 lift -7.3  with spoiler drag -6.7 lift -4.1

Big document - probably take my slow brain a week or 2 to wrap my head around it.

I'm just a poor boy.  Let us know if it's worth the $15.00 charge.
