Trailer ramps
«

Hi all,
I am about to build some ramps for an open trailer. They need to be ten
feet long for a 2,000 lb max car. Any suggestions for light weight
construction?

Look into alum. scaffold like the painters use. They are about 10 ft. long and light. Tim Rochlitzer uses them for his belly tank. They also fill in as side on the trailer.

Well aluminum scaffolding planks were way too spendy for me. Absent other advice here is what I built. Two inch by one inch .09 wall tube for the main rails. One inch square by .062 wall for the tension struts. They weigh about 60 pounds apiece, overkill for a 1,600 lb. car but they could be used for heavyer cars if needed.
