The 211 Corvair, mid engine Chrysler, was owned and driven by Donnie Torgeson from Santa Barbara. He and Freddie Dannenfelzer were good friends. Donnie had a 29 Tudor Ford with a CHrysler in it when he was in HS. They would drive it to San Fernando, kick ssa and drive it home.

On the first leg of his record run the front end was lifting. We drove back to the pits, removed the seat belts from his pickup, drove back and tied the front suspension down. His return run put him in the 2 Club in 1967, 210+ MPH.

He brought it in his airplane. It's a 50cc Morbidelli and he established 5 or 6 records that week.
If my spelling is incorrect, someone post a correction and I'll correct it. The foto was done in 1978.

Same car, different color, different driver.

You are walking history my friend, keep posting pictures, you are starting to catch up.
