I watched your precious race by your personal Gods last night. Over an hours delay because the baby Gods couldn't put 3 laps together without hitting each other. Carburators and pushrods, speeds less than 190MPH, less than 10 laps between yellow flags. The best of technology, I'm impressed - count me among the converted, and an ignore button pusher. DW

Let's just hit the "ignore" buttons on these two guys and go back to the original subject. This was one of the truly great threads until it got contaminated. If you get really curious about something you can always push "unignore" and then go back to "ignore" again after your curiosity has been satisfied.
Let's resurrect "Old Bonneville Pictures" and forget the detour this subject has taken.

Regarding the Christman coupe Dan was correct on it being turned into a movie car by Geo Barris. That was 1961 and used on the Dobie Gillis show. It was later restored to the original Bronze beauty by Christman and inducted into the Dry Lakes Hall of fame in 2008. The bronze pictures were taken by Freud at the Gas UP.

Looks like spitting image of the Chrisman coupe ... They are using a later Ford front windshield and posts ... there is a ton of work in this roof ... Sharp ... Thank you DW ... Joe

Here's a few more, the Bug Eye set the record in 79, sponsored by the Army Reserve, they came back in 80 with it looking better, and lost the record to Ben Jordan's Abarth Zagato by about 22 MPH.  Anybody remember who put the Bug Eye together? I'd love to talk to them, if they're still around.
