11/22/08- Leslie was just crowned American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Sports Female Athlete of the Year at the AMA banquet at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. It is great to have LSR recognized at that level. Way to go Leslie!!!

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime. His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.
Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all. J

Very cool. Big congrats to Leslie.Wish they had had it in Las Vegas again,Barber was too far for my budget. And anyone who can hang on to a naked bike at 240 is an athlete in my mind, John. I keep working out so I can keep doing this stuff for years to come!!

Unh, Glen, maybe you could qualify your comments -- adding "female" to the sentence.

The Barber location was a great place to have the banquet; surrounded by so many motorcycles and watching the riders on the track through the window was perfect. Watching the expression on Leslie's face when they announced her as AMA Female Athlete of the Year - Priceless! Congratulations to Leslie and everyone else that accomplished their goals this year.

WTG!!! Leslie!!! In 2007 I had just launched Leslie when she came off the bike at the 4 mile and scared the hell out of everybody. To see her return in 2008 and run as hard and as fast as she did is one of the coolest stories of the 2008 event IMHO The AMA may have had some troubles latley but they sure got this one right! Congrats to Leslie and her team for a well deserved honor PS My vote for male AMA athlete of the year goes for Cliff.
