I'll be out on the salt as early as there's light for photos. My God man, put out lights! Now why didn't I think of that??? Duh! (Smacks forehead.) Oh, yeah...that little thing about gettin sleep and food and stuff...yeah, that's it. I'll be back out there in a bit...it's 5:15 am...I need a shower (yes, I think it would be a good idea...I'm sure others would agree) and some food (I don't care what others think about that) and I gotta put gas in the Burb (cuz if I don't we ain't goin nowhere) and then I'm back to work. I guess I can't whine about being retired...since there are so many other "retired" folks out here. I'll just put the camera on the monopod and go do stuff. Stay tuned, RtR

there in person. In the late 50's and eayly 60's, Riverside Records put out LP's (remember those...? ) with the "Sounds of Bonneville." Things like Mickey Thompson's 4 engine liner, a Standun single cylinder engine "baby" liner, Alf Romeo, Dodge, DOHC Jaguars, Ferrari V-12, a 1710 cu in Allison aircraft engine - with turbo, Etc. Maybe SSS will someday offer high-quality sound recordings here on LANDRACING.COM, with Glen's oh-so-recognizable voice announcing the speeds, the sound of the chutes deploying, the cheers of the crowd.... All in real time. Don't look for any recording of the sounds going through the timed mile. Every time someone started a run, some idiot in a helicopter went up and hovered right over it and drowned out the sound of the racers. Other than that it was (is) a bichin meet. The announcers (Rice) kept us very well informed about when someone was running. I had to leave Tuesday afternoon. At least I'll be back in 2 weeks. Wayno

YES! This is what it's like to stay home Stainless! BTW, I came home last night and the lawn was mowed and I didn't even need to remind Todd to do it before we left for Maxton! (I think it's the only time he's done it without prompting in the last 8 years!) I think he's already working it to try to go back to Bonnie for Finals! Debbie

J & N aren't always known to be the earliest of risers(or maybe they like spending their am time together before hitting the continental breakfast?)... and for good reason considering the amount of time they put in during their time on the salt. They will be with us soon I'm sure.... better they get a good breakfast so they can put up with all of you(us) needy bazturds out here. Todd PS: OSU wires won't mater to SSS - they have direct connection to the airwaves in that fruity laptop of theirs.
