I've wondered the same.  Lot of rain here yesterday, but as you know we are way south of Wendover.  Weather Street says about .04 on the 31st, but it can rain hard on/by the salt and not in Wendover or the other way around.  Maybe Jon will be posting,

Okay, here's a one-hour-old observation:

Nancy and I just got back to Wendover from our weekend campout with her boys (in southern Utah), and before we got into town we drove to Land's End to scope out the situation.  During the last twenty or so miles from SLC we saw quite a bit of evidence of the recent rains -- and off the side of the road to Land's End showed that it had been wet, too.

So we got to the end of the pavement and saw a bit of standing water in most directions.  Not a heck of a lot -- and it appeared to go no more than a few hundred yards towards the racing area.  I'd guess the water isn't more than a few inches deep, and it does not cover 100% of the ground -- a bit of weaving around with the truck and we'd be able to stay out of the puddles.

Bob Bakker (bak189) saw us there and came up to shake hands and chat for a minute, and he reports that the water we could see -- is all there is.  There race courses, he reports, are fine.  Note I said "courses" -- I understand from that plural that there's a long and a short course for the Bub's event this year.

We did not choose to drive out onto the salt today -- 'cause we're pretty-well toasted from camping at 10,000 feet near Wheeler Peak at Great Basin Nat'l Park - and a shower sure sounds good (but not that you're getting this report before I clean up.  Talk about putting the site, and you folks, before just about everything!).  But we'll be going out there tomorrow morning to get close up and give you some first-hand reports on what's what.  We saw more than a few race bikes headed towards Wendover -- trailers, back of pickups, and a bunch that I will assume are going to be "Run Whatcha Brung" entries.

I'm still THRASHING to replace my B motor with my A motor !I Killed a Headgasget on my B motor and ingested a Little too much Salt into my Big Turbo so the {Tiny } spare Lil'Turbo will replace Big Daddy for this race ?Gotta finish up rewiring and Plumbing{We Replaced just about Everything},but ran out of time before the weekend !
I'm PRAYING everything will go together today and work correctly so we can head off to BUB sometime tonight or tomorrow?
I'm also putting the body work back on and putting some taller gears on too !
Any Live Salt updates are Greatly APRECIATED as I don't' have much Time or Money to waste before heading back.

The weather information you have posted is NOT from any weather station near or around the Bonneville Salt Flats. That weather station is in the middle of Salt Lake City.

I would suggest checking the weather station at the Port of Entry on I 80.

According to Jon W. who is on the salt right now there is only a small amount of water near roads end, the courses are dry.
