Roger Goldammer's Bonneville Harley-Davidson
« on: August 16, 2008, 03:33:46 PM »

What a great bike. This is one of the nicest and most imaginative custom Harleys I've ever seen.

"Roger Goldammer creates stunning designs, yet he doesn't let his creations sit in a corner collecting dust. Rather, his winning bike is a world record holder, averaging over 160 miles per hour last year at the Bonneville Salt Flats."

I have always liked the bikes he builds........he always seems a little bit more outside of the box then most.

I was impressed with Rodger's earlier "Board Track" themed bikes. We talked at length several times when he built his 250cc 2 stroke Bonneville racer. I have had the pleasure of touring his shop and viewing his collection. He is most definitely not your stereotypical custom Harley builder, he has a real commitment to performance and pays homage to racers of the past. He drives a Honda CRF450 on the street! It's nice to see his talent and vision recognized.

Roger's shop is in Kelowna, British Columbia.

If I'm not mistaken, he and I met back in 1995, when he was a Motorcycle Mechanics Institute student here in Phoenix. Before heading south, he had built a tasteful rigid Harley chopper that was a masterpiece.

Having just visited the new HD museum in Milwaukee, I felt a bit let down by the lack of attention paid to LSR.

If Roger's bike ever needs a new home, I think it would be an appropriate example of what can be done when a Harley powerplant meets a talented bike builder.  I think it would deserve a spot in the museum.

Nice work!  Is it a turbo'ed Buell motor?
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

Although it's not a race bike, I thought some of you would like to see another bike that Roger Goldammer built earlier:
