Tonight I scored the deal I have been looking for.........I have been kinda looking for a deal on Busa for awhile now and tonight I found it! It's a 2003 that was laid down and has a salvage title for $2700. This will be my next LSR project. It is pretty dirty as it has been outside for a few weeks, but I will get her cleaned up and post some more pictures, from what I can see most of the damage is cosmetic.

The possibilities........I am not sure yet John, however I was thinking the more power I make N/A the less boost I would have to run later to make the power I want and maybe make the motor more reliable..........am I thinking right here?

Congrats Scott! Welcome to the dark side!

You got a lot of good advice over on the SH.ORG. Take your time looking over that bike before trying to fire it up and go for a ride! I know you said you had a long term timeline so it looks like you picked up a good starting point! Look it over good & you'll do well with it. Noonan is the used parts king so I'm sure he'll hook you up with good parts & advice! Wink

Oh yeah, there's a guy, Busaman66, on the SH.org that gets all kinds of parts so if Noonan can't help you hit him up. His prices are good, his descriptions are too  modest if anything and his packaging & fast shipping couldn't be better!

There's a reason this V-Twin shop owner races a busa and I think you understand! Todd's still running his ironhead for another reason & another goal. My busa may well never see a turbo or be in the fastest of the fast, but just to have a relatively low maintenance, street legal, 200 mph bike in the stable to make a pass on any time we want, heck, how can you go wrong?

Good luck with the project! I'll help out any way I can but I'm just a newbie to the over 200 mph world so I'm not sure how much helpful stuff I actually know!

I'll have the Vmax back together for Sept Maxton Kaz.
Don't worry Kaz, you'll do it some day too.  Its like a girl you don't want to tell anyone you slept with, it was easy but you don't want to be seen in public with her(the bike)

Bill
(I just tell everyone my turbo bike is realy the new Vmax)  grin
Aren't they coming out with a new Vrod (hint hint)

Oh I can see it now, he'll be trying to shape the fairings to look like a vrod!  grin

We were talking about you last night Bill! We were trying to figure out why, according to the magazine article we were reading, they're limiting the new Vmax to 136mph? Where the heck did they come up with that number!!!

hmmm... so should we expect Scott to mold the new busa to a V-twin look alike too?  grin

I made mine look like a mutt just to add to the confusion!

Deb,

Actually your Mutt looks good with the lights and blinkers still attached and I bet your bike is faster with them than without.  Imagine if Bill had his bike like that..250!!

It’s a good thing the original owner had the tank buckle protector....wouldn’t want it to get scratched!

From what I can see it looks like the frame was untouched……
Now all you need is that carbon fiber body that SSS has for sale and about 35 PSI.
