if that a Boss Hoss, I think Production or Modified, but maybe altered if you used a big block instead of a small block, that constitutes an engine swap....or is that car rules....We mix cars and bikes for the lakester, should be OK to mix 'em the other way

If that was a Boss Hoss, it's definitely not production anymore.

That thing is absolutely wild, it's like action movie crazy!

One thing though, the chain guard is really lacking IMHO.

As I recall a fellow named Potter did that 25 years ago. They called him Mad Man.
He never worried about class.
Jack will remember, for sure.

good to see Sam still has that beast. here it is at a fundraiser drag racing event I put on a few years ago. 300'ish shot in a big built small block if memory serves me right.

E.J. Potter. the "Michigan Mad Man" on the "Widow Maker".
that was 35 years ago.
Joe Teresi had a Buick  powered Drag Bike he ran at Lyons before that.
Sam's bike would run with the "Zoners",

B.F. Goodrich had a no fault return policy at the time. E.J. Potter the Michigan Madman would take the worn out tire to the nearest dealer on his way to the next race with the Widowmaker and trade it in for a new tire for the next weekend. He couldn't get the clutch to work, so he went with a direct drive. Put it on the stand, fire it up, dump it off. Smoke the hide off it, get a new one.

If you want to build your own you could use the Hayabusa V8.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Actually he put it on the center stand and when the tire expanded at speed it pulled him off and he was under way.
For the last edition I built a clutch like a Mini Bike clutch using a Ford PU brake drum bolted to the hub and it spun a backing plate and as the shoes expanded it went down the road.
That made it quicker and faster.
the last I saw of it was at OCIR at an AHRA race.

I think the Busa V8 is being worked in the UK.  Uses a lot of bike motor parts and they build a block and crank.  Since airflow and smooth pumping is HP, this little motor would scream.

Try this link:

I have been trying to figure out how to do something using the stock cranks and heads and a common crankcase like a Areil square four with the cranks geared/chained together with a common crankcase that I might stand a chance of being able to build in a home inviornment.

c ya,

Sum; What about an Boxer flat eight? You could use the stock barrels, crank, heads, and maybe modify the crankcases. I would guess you would need to have made forked rods. Cam drive would need work. It would be a good LONG term project. Maybe.  PS the spell check works great.

As far as Sam's SBC bike, with a few modifications it would run as a push rod and wind up a few panties.
With the SBC now legal for production in the Big Dog, it should be interesting.
