The A2 WIND TUNNEL is now offering Speed Reports for Landspeed Racers.

See an example report compiled for Gary Eaker’s 1988 Firebird Trans Am that ran 296.150 in Bonneville (Run 1 Oct. 2 1989) from wind tunnel data of the car as tested (GM Wind Tunnel) and known information. The report calculated a 1 mile average of 303.47 mph (2% error in this case).  Gary also noted there was a significant head wind that day, and the results should get you reasonably close.

Info required for report:

Static weight of car
  Front lbs
  Rear lbs

Horsepower
  At crank or wheel

Frontal Area:

Coefficient of Drag:
  CD

Coefficient of Lift:
  Front: CLF
  Rear:  CLR

Speed Report Cost:
$25 First time report: 3 Configurations
$10 Each additional Configuration

Great info..

Is your company a site sponsor here..you know: helps keep the lights on with a donation or a banner ad? Very common when a business like yours freely advertises on a website or BB.

And if you have already done so and either have an aggreement or are supporting this site then thank you very much. cheesy

Thanks.

I think it's neat that someone who is involved in wind tunnel testing race cars is also involved with us here.

Fair is fair, though, so here are links to all of the wind tunnel Web sites I've compiled so far for my site's race car design and software page. If I've missed any, please let me know.

JN:

Thanks for asking if the Wind Tunnel is a sponsor of the site.  I've gotta be honest -- he's asked about being one, and I said I'd be glad to have him here -- but until I learn some more from Jon Amo (about how to do stuff like ads) -- I haven't followed up on his offer (or that of anyone else).  And now that Amo's got a new toy in the garage I wonder if I'll ever get anything from him -- his head's so far into the clouds with the car that I don't expect much for a few days, that's for sure.

Jon,

Thanks for the info, ad's like this would be a minimum of $50.00-$100.00 per month for a company like this to advertise on your site, they have a very captive  audience and you cannot target - market better than this...the JE ad was for a value of over $ 1,200.00 and is about done..

Call me if you need any assistance and I will be there Sunday wink.

Jon,

A2 Wind tunnle could make a serious amount on there return for advertising on your site, they do a great job and I for one would be happy to send a bike their way.

Hello, John -- Thanks.  I enjoy selling advertising -- as well as other stuff -- just have never sold ads on a website.  And worse than not having a great concept of how to sell something so well-targeted --  I've gotta figure out how to get the durned ad built and into the site.  Amo, quit messing with that car and get out here to show me what the heck to do!

See you all in a couple of days.  There are now porta-potties and trash rolloffs on the salt -- no need to cross your legs and head for the truckstop at flank speed.
