Unfortunately I missed what ended up being the last race at Ohio Heard there is no more racing out there Is there any word on when/how/where the next venue will be? I suppose if nothing pans out there is always 24 hour drive to TX or Loring which is almost as far....but I do like a local-ish standing start 1 mile event Post up if you've heard anything...and hope everyone has a good holiday! A.

Not knowing if theres going to be a 2017 season sure rots. Having the ECTA events to run at has certainly helped a number of us get our equipment ready for the BIG event in August. No events in 2017 will hurt a bunch.

They'er not known for shearing info to the paying masses. If we had known the last race in Ohio was the last race in Ohio we would have been there. They' let us know 3 weeks before the next race......

Well, they told us in May that September was in doubt and 2017 even more so. Not like it was a surprise.

Hey buddy! No news yet. They posted on Facebook Ohio Mile page that they are still working it and still sound optimistic.

https://consumerist.com/2017/02/01/amazon-signs-50-year-lease-on-air-cargo-hub-in-kentucky/So Amazon just signed a 50-year lease at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport for its new air fleet. According to the story: "Only 16 of the 40 Prime Air cargo jets that Amazon has leased are in service now, and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky hub is meant to serve as their home once they’re all in the air. Amazon began its air operation at what used to be the DHL domestic hub at a decommissioned Air Force base in Ohio, northeast of Cincinnati." Does this mean that once all 40 jets are operational, Amazon will be LEAVING Wilmington? Anyone know? Just curious... Gary

I'm signing in to this thread just to be sure I hear about one last Ohio Mile if it comes to pass.
Man, I hope so!

Unh, yeah, right. I can just imagine the new administration heralding all the new jobs the grow site would provide. I mean, dozens if not hundreds of hard-working locals will want to spend hours crawling around and trimming plants, chasing spider mites, and checking pH. Jobs for Wilmington! Ignore the laws...

Just got my 2017 ECTA membership info & newsletter. They said they are not planning any meets for spring or summer. They have a strong possibility for 2018 and will be visiting there in late spring. They also said they have a possible back up location, but it would require a lot of work and volunteers to make it happen. Last they asked for people to keep looking for inactive runways that are 8500+ feet long.

when you have nothing to do this long list is interesting http://www.airfields-freeman.com/index.htm The Seneca Army depot in western NY state is closed , 7000 foot runway...Might be a bit too short for some faster vehicles
