Titi. valve stems diameters will scare you---if you have to buy exhaust I would sure do inconel with berilium seats--with valvespring oilers for sure---works wonders for extending valve and valve spring life!!!!

Hooley from what I have been told over and over---we are about to get the biggest grins of our lives---- when we shift into high gear and ramp up the boost----and----and---just grin as we watch the tach needle climb and climb --- heres to the grins   cheers  cheers  cheers

Thanks Sparky,
I didn't get any valves with the heads so I'll be ordering valves.  I sure doubted the smaller size stems.  It's good to find out now.  I don't think spring oilers will be a problem to install in the valve covers.  Doug at Pro-Pans and Top Covers puts them in all the time and would I'm sure would put them in for us.  Don't want to starve the top for oil.

I am grinning  with anticipation as I write .

Sparky,
Sorry about the long time between posts.  Woody's knowledge takes a little time for my simple brain to soak it in. It was very interesting.

On another note The 2013    974  Project is under way.  I am taking the old engine out and stripping some of the car down.
The block is getting the piston oilers installed and the heads are getting the extra 4 head studs.  We're working on cam specs so we can order pistons and rods.

We're going to stretch the front end 24 inches.  I will try to load a rendering picture from John K's friend. The fuel tank will be moved to the back, the engine cooling tank will be moved up in front of the engine, and the new ice /water inter cooler will be in the passenger area. It dosen't sound like much, haha

Hey, sir -- would you like me to lock the '06 thread so that while it's still available for viewing -- questions and comments would need to be put on the new ('13) one?  Or something like that?  I'd only do it to allow you to get all of the queries delivered to your computer in one lump - vs. two.  Lemme know.

-9F right now in Skandia, Michigan.  What's it like in Okla-homa?

Hooley, I have 12 new in the box Ross pistons 4.500 bore, 4.000 stroke 10.25-1 Comp Ratio, rod length 6.525. also have 12 brand new in the box Brooks alum rods 6.525 . I got these at an estate sale some years back and they are on my shelf collecting dust. I would like a fair offer for both as a set.let me know and we will talk.

Glen,
Thank you for offering them them. We are starting with a 4.6+ bore and a 4.250 stroke. ( Dart Block and Callies crank) To get a better rod ratio  we will use a .250 long rod.  That would have saved us a lot if we could have used it.

   Thank you,

Glen, the 4.500" bore X 4.00" stroke would yield 509 ci, that's what I ran in the #787 Stude.

Glen, That is what we are running a 509. What is a fair price? I have steel 6.535 rods do you need to run alums a little shorter?
