So, with the new event and records announced... albeit on short notice...

Who is playing?

Last year was a 10 day notice. This is a eternity.

I'd love to go back there…Great track if you have ground clearance and suspension…. With the deadline to register in 3 weeks and my bike and motor completely  apart, I can't risk that large an entry fee with an unproven setup that may or may not be together and running..dang!

There is an intersection where another runway crosses the main runway and if you pick your path there it is not too bad,,Id say about a 2 on a scale of 5

However, if you go through where the most height difference is a low car will scrape and a bike will heave some,,, about a 3 on a scale of 5

The rest of it is a billiard table compared to El Mirage at the finish line…..

My bike is not that fast in the 115 to 120 mph range,,, so another rider or driver should have more to report…

I saw the announcement for this race on the SCTA website a couple of days ago.  Kind of a bummer, because according to the Mojave Mile website, the event was sold out about 3 weeks ago....

Does being on a waiting list mean/do any good?

Jeff, the Mojave Mile organization's event on April 9-10 is sold out.  The SCTA California Mile is April 23-24.

This is a SCTA event. You can get the info needed from www.scta-bni.org, not the Mojave website.

Oops, I didn't realize that there were two different events.  I have to do some quick thinking, but I think I may try to make it to the SCTA event.  Any idea how many entries so far?  Put another way, how much time do I have before it is full?

Thanks,

Jeff

I just kicked myself in the butt to get my CRX done by entering the California Mile event. My entry receipt said #15 on it, so I assume that is how many entries as of tonight.  It will be a good warm-up for the May El Mirage meet.

Folks sorry to be a squeaky wheel, BUT, You have only 6 Days Left to Pre-Reg for the SCTA California Mile before 3/20 or it's not going to happen!

With as bad as our season was last year, we need all the events we can get. Unless we get 70 more Car, Lakester, Streamliner or Motorcycle entries before 3/20 which is in just a 6 days, this event will not be booked. We must have a minimum of 100 Total Entries, and right now we only have 30 booked.  Now, again, this is an Open Record Event in All Classes. That means you have a high chance of setting a record since there are none on the books.

All SCTA and BNI Members may run. If you are not a BNI Member, you may sign up on the links I'm giving below. If you need a pre-inspection or motor sealed, that can also be done before the event at a Chief Inspectors location. Let's do this folks, we may not have very many venues left in the west, and heres your chance to run in April at the first SCTA California Mile held at the Mojave Air and Space Port April 23/24.

Please, click on the link below to Register today before its to late. This Event will either be Approved or Cancelled based on Pre-Reg's. So do it today. http://www.scta-bni.org/2016-scta-mojave-standing-mile.html

Wow!  Talk about fast.

I just received my Paypal refund of the $390 for this event ($400 minus the agreed $10 processing for no event) just now.

I guess that means the interest/entry numbers were a long away from any other further discussion.

I kind of thought that with the uncertanity of having to deal with the many potential problems of continued long term use of El Mirage and Bonneville, that promoting another event is So Cal as a back-up would be a good thing.

I hope you guys know what you are doing...

I know the two trips thing was a problem for me.  Plus, impound only once... that means you have to gamble on what your fastest speed will be before it breaks or something.  Plus I would have needed front brakes.  I have them, but I can't install them without designing a new rear brake solution.
