S.S. Slim, I was just reading in a area about our Status, How does that work ?
I have been new folks over a year
Im in for the long haul and I love reading the Heros stuff, Like Stainless, I give up on getting four stars or is it five...
But ?   When and how does a change come about, I cant just comment on just anything to get in there, And I learned my lesson in a hurry
about being careful of what and how I say things , Man can that bring on some comments, In fact on my first comments Freud told me I dont think this kind of racing is for you and it was at my highest point after just returning from Bonneville and catching salt fever, Even if I really had it my whole like, But didnt act on it until I was 55.
At 54 I met Danny Thompson and he told me quit dreaming, And I listened..
Haha, Ive been afraid, Well not really, But shy about introducing myself, I guess what I just wrote could have worked there..
But I love this forum and all on it, Bad or good. My favorite being when some gunslinger comes to town and lets everybody know how
hes gonna kick there Arse and beat everyone,  And the the flood gates open with everyone telling him all kinds of stuff, Man I love and get a kick out of that happening.
Thank You SSS For haveing and keeping an eye on things, Man I had a great donation ready on Thursday after the Powerball, But things didnt quite work out .
Thanks again , Don   DRW

Ah, that status thing again.  It's a holdover, sorta, from way back when -- and I got it all farkled one day a few years ago and reset the words form Hero or whatever they were -- to the present stuff.  I think it is a relative display of how many posts you've made, but I forget.

You're welcome to ignore it -- or you can think about how cool it'd be if I got my butt in gear and came up with some great new rating system.

DRW,

Just keep posting your thoughts, and the totals will come, and your status will change.

Yes, think about what you want to say, poor ideas bring advice, bad ideas bring derision.   Poor grammar and/or spelling brings out the "Comma Cop".    wink

Having said that, the vast majority of members truly want to help.    You just need to remember that not all participants value "political correctness", ie, your feelings.

The best way to post regularly is to start a "build diary" if you do not already have one.   This lets you tell the story of your ride, in your own perspective.   You will get a lot of postings with helpful suggestions.   And if you are stuck or undecided, you can ask for help.    The resources available here are mind boggling.

Keep your posts short, post LOTS of pictures.   Pretty soon, time will fly.   And who knows, you might find yourself in "Impound" talking to Dan Warner.

Chris Conrad, aka "Milwaukee Midget" in impound with Dan Warner, September, 2014.

If you want to emulate a build diary, check out the MM's, or one of the other long running build diaries.   They are all good.

 cheers

Fordboy, Thanks, Just for taking the time to write that !
And yes, It seems most members want to help.
About the only bad thing I see in the Forum, Is after im done either reading something
or writing something, I tend to miss the salt all the more !
Dang, There I go with my feelings again, Thats a hard one not to do !
Oh and the picture thing, Man I agree on that , Its always best when someone follows up a story with a pic.
So again, Thanks for taking a min to write, Much Appreciated...

Ok, here's the setup.

New Folks 0 posts
JR. Member 30
Full Member 50
SR. Member 300
Hero Member 1000

So you're about 6 short of a promotion.

Nobody's ever commented about this, I think there could be better names for the different categories.

I'll look into it.

What he meant to say was:
