Blanding, Ut..a small dot in the middle of nowhere

« on: March 25, 2014, 11:54:58 AM »

I was asked if I had a motorcycle spreadsheet that had the option of inputting added ratios for when a jackshaft is used as it might be in a motorcycle powered lakester or streamliner or even a bike that might need one.

So I added that feature to...

.... the 6 speed spreadsheet that can also be used if you have an engine with a 4 or 5 speed transmission.  If you have say a 4 speed then to the right of the red arrow put the transmissions 4th gear ratios in the space for 5th and 6th.  Likewise if you have a 5 speed put the 5th gear ration in the space for the 6th.

The two blue arrows point to where you deal with the added jackshaft.  Where the left blue arrow is put in the tooth count for the transmissions output sprocket and the input sprocket for the jackshaft.  Over at the right blue arrow put in the tooth count for the jackshafts output sprocket and also the rear hub sprocket tooth count.

You can also use the same spread sheet if you are not using a jackshaft.  Where the left blue arrow is put in the same tooth count in both boxes (any numbers that are the same).  Where the right blue arrow is put in the tooth count of the engine's sprocket where it says "jackshaft output sprocket" and put in the rear hub sprocket tooth count.

If anyone finds any errors please notify me and for some after you download the spreadsheet if you can't input then save it under a different name and reopen that one and it should allow input.

If you want to change the spreadsheet and need to modify cells use "unlock" as the password to unlock all of the cells in the spreadsheet.

Here is the link to the page where the spreadsheet can be found.....

this link should go directly to the download... 4-5-6 Speed and Jackshaft-1.xls

and I'm also going to try attaching it and see if that works,
