Why another class? I don't remember the rulebook saying anything about "wheel" shape- round, or otherwise.

A friend sent me this video showing new technology for auto engines.  I feel you will find this new technology exciting.

For all you ‘Gear-Heads’ out there I find this Pretty darn cool!!!!!!!

First they got rid of our hand-cranks.

Then they take our Ignition Points.

Next they take our beloved Carburetors.

Then they take our Spark Plug Wires.

Now they want to take our trusty Camshaft too???

What Next???

It's well worth watching.

Thanks for posting this Freud.  What I see is the ability to change the valve timing at various rpm so the valve actuation always matches the intake and exhaust system harmonics.  This will give greater efficiency throughout the rpm range.  Also, less energy losses and longer valve train life.  A good deal in all ways.

With less than 17% of the available classes subscribed to at the recent Speed Week what makes you think a new class is needed. There are places to run, build to that open record and buy yourself a record.

This should have been posted to one of those joke threads.

Several years ago there was a concept engine (GM?) using electric solenoids for valve actuation.

It didn't need a starter because the valves and ignition could be ran through there cycle to start it.

I completely agree, the rulebook is broken.
