Fenderless it's going to be an Altered or Comp Coup/Sedan. Up to you. Do you have a rule book?

yes i do have a rule book...isnt the altered class limited on engines...like no aftermartket turbos..this rule book isnt the easiest thing to read...looks to me that there are atleast 6 class' for (pre-1947) a roadster...& 2 for a(pre-47) coupe or sedan...in comp class you are giving up aero to cameros & mustangs..Am I wrong..I could stand some input.Out of 60 some people looking at this post..Only 1 replied.please...share your knowl how guys....again THANK YOU TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE

What kind of engine are you planning on using? If you want to run in the XF or XO classes, no turbos on vintage engines in vintage classes. If you are planning on a newer engine and you want to run a turbo, have at it. Puts you in Blown alt or Blown CC

I understand the xo & xf...but my 2012 rule book isnt clear on  the "alt" stuff. Can I run a twin turbo LS6 with an after market EFI. lets say either body in CBFALT or CBGALT? wont this be running against say a 1969 to 1981 camero that clearly have an AERO advantage..  again THANK YOU

You need to clarify what you are planning here to get advise, 2dr or 4dr what?  So are you looking to just run or are you looking to hunt a record. If it's the latter, choice of vehicle is very relevant. It's not likely you could turn up with a 34 Chevy sedan thats about the size of an appartment building & expect to click off a record.
A lot of savvy people have spent a lot of time putting records where they are.

Yes you can run it and yes the Monzas and Vegas and Cameros will have an areo advantage. 5.C in the rule book is fairly clear. No aftermarket EFI. in the "Classic Category. The LS6 and turbos are fine but you will have to run in plain old Alt or Comp. if you need the EFI.  Against 2012 bodies if someone wants to run one.

The first letter "C" refers to Classic either Alt or Gas coupe or sedan. But there is also Altered class which allows later model bodies and/or aftermarket EFI. So if your car can not run in Classic Alt because of your EFI it will be put in Alt where the record is 10 mph slower anyway.

No. You would be in Altered Coupe and Sedan. Any closed non sports car from 1928 to 2012. If you want to run in a class that is restricted to pre 1948 bodies you must run a Vintage engine within the X engine rules. You can run mechanical fuel injection in Classic. I don't know what is in the Kugel LeFevers Firebird. But I think it was Hilborn injected last time I saw it.
