Last report I heard was at the SCTA meeting on Friday, April 7th. Someone had talked to George Calloway. The report was that there was standing water on the west end of the lake earlier that week, but not too deep. West winds came up and blew all the water towards the east end of the Lake. Later in the week, east winds were blowing the water back to the west. The feeling was that if there was no more significant rain and we get some warmer weather and wind, that the lake would be dry.

We are getting rain again south of the San Gabriel Mts and more is forecast for next weekend but looking at the El Mirage weather report, it does not look like there is any more rain there and winds are forecast for all week. That is good!!!!

Course Prep is scheduled for April 29th.... Hopefully we'll have a dry lake and can go racing the next weekend!

Curious.  Is El Mirge anything like submirge?

Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

THis is unofficial report today.

"RUMORS NOT TRUE !!!!, We have been dry for weeks. It has just been COLD & WINDY. The May meet should be "A GO" unless we have any unexpected rain....."

According to the current BLM recorded report for El Mirage (7am - 4/17),  "The lakebed is currently open to all vehicle travel."

Here is the number for the BLM recording: (760)388-4411

High winds forecast today, warming temps and no immediate rain in the picture. Looking very good for May. Course prep is on April 29th.

I was on the lake Saturday, it looks good. Barring any rain, we should be in for a good meet!
