Looks great! Was wondering where you got the belly tank body?  Also is there something some where that explains the use of a water tank over a radiator.  I understand that airflow is an issue in a belly tank, but I don't really understand the water tank and how it works.  Doesn't need to be said, but I'm new to LSR.

Troy, I have the Tanks. And if someone on the Forum buys one, I shoot Jon and Nancy something.  grin  The water tank is just that. A water tank. You just recirculate water through it during the run. Wayno

That's ok...I've been called worse.  grin  Thanks for the information.  Is there any kind of standard for the size of the water tank to the size of the engine...or is it just what size can fit the project?  I would think the larger the tank the better?

Troy, your motor is the burner on your water tank... you don't want the water in your tank to exceed 210 degrees.... so depending on how much burner you have tells you how much water you might need to carry.  We have a 5+ gal tank in the lakester, made around 300 HP by my calculations and ran 5 miles just under 210 degrees...  we start with the water at salt temperature and this year ran a thermostat

Troy there are lots of cars running water tanks of various sizes. There are also cars running radiators inside water tanks. The other thing that a lot of people do is make a larger opening in the water tank and add ice before a run. There are lots of ways to skin those cats!

Now the fun part. You may have noticed the 36" diameter plywood disks mounted on the ends of the chassis to facilitate welding and painting. These were my poor mans rotisserie. This photo is of me strapped in and turned upside down to test belt loading. I figured if it was uncomfortable at this stage it was time to change it. As it turned out, no problem.  cheers Wayno
