I need to purchase a fire suit to build to the record which is 200mph. My car is a blown SBF and it will require a SFI 3.2A/20 fire suit. When I check into these suits they are around $1300 on the bottom end and over $2800 on the top end.

Any advice on how to find one of these on a budget for a new driver?

Thanks,

Craig

buy a used one.  they're for sale all the time.  hopefully you're of average size and build.  also might try other manufacturers.  $4k for a -20 suit sounds awfully steep to me.

Watch racingjunk.com, the funny car and top dragster sites often have classifieds and Joe Timney, president ECTA is dealer for Stroud and will give good pricing as well. I am sure there are other vendors here as well. Even Ebay occasionally but most are not -20 suits.

I bought a new -20 Leaf a few years back for $375.00 and a new display Simpson -15 for $150 both at car swap meets. My original 3-2 was at Diests as a return.........Keep looking and good luck

I don't think you add his two numbers up... what he meant was  $1,300 for a lower end price/brand,,, vs $2,800 for a top of the line "Name Brand" fire suit.

Either way,,, Joe Timney  has these  SFI 20 Suites,,, "Super Suits"  he just sent me a sample,, and they are thinner and more comfortble than other -20 suits I have seen.

Try the classified section on Landracing.com. I bought a SFI 20 Xl suit last year at a very fair price.

ha lol oops.  yeah, i read over that too fast.  i have an old deist two piece suit and it's always something about the top or the bottom (half usually).  i missed the "end" part.  duh.

btw the stand21 flex suits are AMAZING.  if i had the bucks i'd get one.
