Kinda cool commercial,
Looks to be filmed on the salt, and on the asphalt road to the salt.

See you on the salt

She probably came in from the Wendover side and forgot about the hour difference between Pacific and Mountain time.  A common mistake and one I have made a few times.  Flyboy should be more considerate and tolerant.

Notice the P51 air inlet is also the same shape as the one on the Speed Demon? Never realized the similarity until watching that clip.

Well, Wayno, yes - but. . .  I have spent a good bit of time in both of the Wendovers - and every clock I remember seeing is set to the same time standard on either side of the border.  Even W. Wenodver's city hall runs on Mountain time.

Just sayin'

Just saw this ad played on a billboard while retrieving my luggage from the belt at Zurich airport in my native Switzerland!

I just can't believe they landed that thing on the salt.

How about a 55 gallon drum of SaltX

In the process of reworking the aluminum body work of the lakester, I removed one flush riveted extension and found evidence of salt.  This was exposed on the inside surface, and was only on the salt for one meet.
I'm being more careful now.
That sure was an effective commercial, but I still won't buy the watch.
My 30 year watch from Ford is more valuable to me.

Sorry guys,

All of Wendover, whether Utah or Nevada, is on Mountain Time.  Pacific Time starts after leaving West Wendover.

Thanks for that note, Lynda.  Look back a handful of posts and you'll see that I told 'em so, too -- but then, you're a resident of the town so you know for sure.  Merry Christmas.
