Yes it’s expensive to be at the trade shows, but when you have a large potential customer base it’s an excellent place to be seen.  Otherwise, where would we spend our $$ on ads?  We test anything from motorcycles, Landspeed, NHRA, NASCAR, ARCA, SCCA and the list goes on.. That would be a lot of advertising space $$$$ in magazines to reach all the clientele we test or could test.  The trade shows at least provide an opportunity to be seen by people that would never think about your company otherwise or for people in the racing industry to meet face to face and ask questions.

Woody, last year we were at IMIS and this year is PRI because it’s just too expensive for 2 shows a year, and they are a week apart.  Both PRI and IMIS are hurting the shows because they split them up and it’s too hard for most companies to do both.  I (along with many others) wish they would have just one show.  I have heard the arguments on both sides and although I felt IMIS was a better "racers" trade show, we certainty got more business from PRI in 2009.  So, we are going back there this year, and maybe we'll just alternate between the two every year.

Looking forward to going to the PRI show for three days and then INDY the next week. Last year I tried to talk to everyone that had anything to do with Land Speed Racing.

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.

Wow, that "Flying Dutchman" moniker brings back memories of Al VanderWoode's early days funny car...........  I think it had a Dodge Dart body with a altered wheelbase.
I hadn't thought of that name or car in forty years................ Of course I haven't thought clearly in forty years..................   rolleyes
