Spoken like a fellow speed addict that couldn't be there. I would say they are running for a couple of more hours.

I'm hearing of epic CF on the starting line with 6hour+ waits. 175+ entries. Charles V has run a 185pass on a shake down, a fast bike motor is hurt

Now if we knew what or who a Lawson was, we could get excited, too.

Lawson Bilhardt is the guys that's mentioned in the current Hot Rod magazine that donated a whole bunch of old race photos. The magazine has a couple of pages this month.
He drives a Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe at Maxton and Bonneville. Yet another of the good guys from ECTA.

There is a huge crowd here. There has been slow downs on the track and a strong head wind. The daurenhiem bigalow lakester went 240. Pam's charger went 199.666. Gustafson corvette went 183. Ron San giovanni's belly tank blew some oil on the manafold and caught fire. I'm not sure of other times.

I hope the speeds are fast...sitting here in the shop with the #2100 still going together for speedweek. Today I wish I had left the car alone and made the Loring event.
For everyone at Loring...go fast and have fun!

Good for Lawson, no... GREAT for Lawson. He's the guy who drives to Maxton from Penndrell(sp?), PA every meet, helps get the track ready, offers anyone in sight a cold beer at the end of the day, etc. A genuinely nice guy in every way.

It was so windy at long shutdown on Saturday that the pop-up tent got blown away even when held down by two guys! Everyone did a great job dealing with the wind.

I just got back. We spent the day saturday in staging twice with the T-bird guys. Youse are right, the nicest people you will ever meet.
The 608 went 240 on the shakedown run. The second run the timers didn't work. SO no time. But that's OK. We are real happy with the test and did not run today. Packed up and left 6AM. See you all at the Salt.
